Personal Search

Whilst studying dentistry, I missed a broad way of thinking about health. I started to study possible ways to stimulate optimal health, such as lifestyle medicine, positive psychology, exercise, nutrition, meditation and yoga. I wanted to understand why such therapies are not integrated in Western (allopathic) medicine. This proved to be a complex issue.

Research Master

Motivated to understand and analyse complex issues in healthcare and society, I enrolled in the Master ‘Management, Policy Analysis and Entrepreneurship in Health and Life Sciences’ (MPA) at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. MPA provided the insights to understand such complex issues and the tools to formulate strategic interventions for healthcare.

Masters Thesis

During my MPA thesis, I specifically analyzed the integration of Western and traditional/ complementary medicine. From these insights, I developed an integrative health philosophy and framework. This Oneness theory provides a basis for Integrative Medicine, which builds bridges between Western and complementary medicine and philosophy.

My work as an integrative dentist

In 2015 I graduated as a dentist from the faculty of dentistry (ACTA) of the Free University of Amsterdam.

Since then, I worked in various practices, ranging from solo practices to large group practices to support my research.

I worked in both regular and biological dentistry practices and followed various training courses to integrate different ways of thinking.

In 2020, I founded the Integrative Dentistry Center (IDC) in Amsterdam to start my own practice.

Here, I offer personal oral care with an integrative health approach and perform research on integrative dentistry.
